Edgar Corns, Continued...
At the Tri-Creek School Corporation Board of
School Trustees meeting on Thursday, October 25,
2007, Tri-Creek Education Foundation President,
Cheryl Rosevear, announced that one of the
Foundation’s supporters was in attendance to make
a special presentation.
Mr. Edgar Corns, of Lowell, one of the
Foundation’s Founders Club members, spoke about
some of his most memorable experiences during his
years of volunteering with many organizations. In
recognition of the countless hours he devotes to
helping his community, Edgar was recently chosen as
the 2007 Gleaner Fraternalist of the Year by the
Gleaner Life Insurance Society.
"At the state convention, I was given this
engraved medallion to wear. Everyone who saw it knew
that I was going to get an award the following
day," stated Corns. He then proudly displayed a
plaque he received and explained that along with the
plaque, he received a check in the amount of
$1,000.00, which was to be given to a charity of his
choice.
"Thru my membership in the Gleaners, support
has been given to many community organizations,
including the Tri-Creek EMS and the Lowell Volunteer
Fire Department. My wife, Darlene, who taught in the
Tri-Creek school corporation for many years, and I
value and support education. Because of this, I have
chosen the Tri-Creek Education Foundation as the
charity to receive the $1,000.00 award that was
presented to me."
Mrs. Rosevear thanked Mr. Corns for his very
generous gift and for his continued financial
support of the Foundation.
